On the strategic front, we helped redefine the client’s operating model, refocusing its approach and redefining the role of procurement. This transformation was driven by greater executive engagement, reinforcing the strategic impact of the function.

On the process and technology side, our assessment revealed automation opportunities to free up time from repetitive tasks and improve visibility. With a clear technology roadmap and precise business cases, the client now has a structured plan for streamlining and improving procurement operations.

At the organizational level, we recommended a structural review of procurement roles, ensuring better allocation of procurement categories. This adjustment also fosters greater collaboration across the company, amplifying procurement’s overall impact.



Tangible Results and Expanded Opportunities


By implementing these recommendations, our client is now positioned to achieve potential cost savings ranging from CAD 21 million to CAD 50 million. Beyond financial gains, this project marks a significant milestone in the strategic positioning of procurement, transforming it into a key driver of business performance.

Following this assignment, the client entrusted KLB with the implementation of several identified opportunities, including the redesign of the procurement operating model and the expansion of its procurement function. This includes developing and executing a procurement strategy for new categories that were previously outside the department’s scope.
